Engagement Bliss
categories: Engagement, photography

I love enagement shoots. There always seems to be a fun, flirty, easy-going vibe. Couples are stress-free, usually alone (with a photog of course) and get to just be together and play around. I am always amazed at the downright love and adoration the photographers capture during these sessions.

Lilet Hamp of LightRain Images shared a recent engagement shoot with us- Mat and Rochelle are a super cute couple that is getting married March 5, 2011. They have smiles AND spunk- a combo that can’t be beat for engagement sessions.

My favorite image:

I love this picture- the colors, the closeness of their bodies, ahhh love!

Here is what the gorgeous bride-to-be had to say about her engagement session:

We chose our shoot at Tempe Market Place because that is where we had our first lunch date and it was at Slices Pizza Place!  Then on our 2 year anniversary Mat and I went to Slices to grab a bite to eat and after we ate Mat said, “let’s take a picture.”  So he gave me his camera and I went to take a picture of us and the camera said images full; so I had to go and erase the last picture that he took and when I went to do that, it was a picture of him holding a sign that said marry me!!!!!!  Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!!!!!!!

The cool thing about the proposal was that we both love television production because we met at our job at FOX 10 news about 4 years ago and he wanted to implement that into the proposal!

Isn’t that a GREAT proposal story? Good job Mat!

A little bit of glam to pump it up!

Gooooo Devils! Rochelle tells us: Mat and I are both Alumni from ASU that is why we took the picture in the ASU booth! It is a tradition that we at least make it to one game a year!  We are huge Sun Devil Fans

And just to throw some MORE love into this post, here is what the couple says about each other:

Rochelle on Mat: Mat is unlike any other person I have ever met; he has true values and is so much fun to be around.  He always makes me laugh with the movie quotes he brings up on a daily basis and of course I have no idea where they are from but it is still funny to me!

Mat on Rochelle: I love the fact that Rochelle is always smiling with any given situation and she always looks for the positive.  And she makes some mean tacos! =)

Can you see why I adore engaged couples?  Thank you Rochelle and Mat for allowing us to share your images with the world! Congratulations and enjoy your wedding day!

Great Find: Paloma’s Nest
categories: favor and gift ideas, for your ceremony

Every once in a while we come across something that makes us swoon and since we don’t want to swoon solo, we must share Paloma’s Nest with you immediately. Lucky Stephanie, who gets all things wedding plopped in her lap, has been coveting the simple and sweet Ring Bearer Bowls and Bouquet Text Tiles for a few weeks just dreaming of spreading the love.

These products have an organic quality to them that whisper authenticity. Maybe it’s the elegant design. Maybe it’s the understated hue. Whatever it is, we are positive you will thank us for sharing Paloma’s Nest with you. Here are some of our favorites:

OK, so now that you’ve seen this, you probably don’t need it but tell a friend’s boyfriend about it so that he can propose in style and you can be a hero!

I’ve been married 10 years and this still produces a tiny lump in my throat.

Sentimental idea, modern approach: Bouquet Text Tile (totally customizable, by the way!)

And can you stand it? These customized hangers are so perfect for a new baby (we’re always thinking ahead)!

Now that you have properly joined us in our adoration, go to Paloma’s Nest- you will probably find something you can’t live without!

Today’s Tip: You will want to clue your photographer in if you have customized details or sentimental trinkets such as these. Sometimes what may seem obviously important to you might not be apparent to those behind the lens. Photographers eat this stuff up so communicate with them!
