Seeking a truly unique experience

...Virginians Laura Pillor and Bryan Orme chose the world-renowned Sedona area to celebrate their destination wedding.

Recalls Laura, “Our goal was to utilize the
natural beauty of the area by using nature as our
reception backdrop.”

The wedding weekend began on Thursday
with a welcome barbeque. On Friday, the men
played in a golf tournament while the bride
hosted a spa day for the bridesmaids and moth-
ers. The ladies had massages and took a private
yoga class at one of Sedona’s world-famous spas.
The day after the wedding, the newlyweds held
a champagne brunch on an outdoor lawn at
L’Auberge de Sedona.

“Although the weekend was one big party,
we wanted our wedding ceremony to be very
intimate and meaningful,” says Laura. Bryan’s
uncle presided over the afternoon ceremony in
a Catholic Church with views of the red rocks.
“His words were so meaningful that they brought
tears to everyone’s eyes, including my four broth-
ers who never cry!”

On their wedding day, the couple took ad-
vantage of the breathtaking scenery, hosting an
outdoor cocktail hour at dusk with the red rocks
glowing in the sunset. A Mariachi band played
while guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, seafood
from a raw bar, and sushi. For the tented recep-
tion, the florist designed gorgeous centerpieces
using wrought iron trees decorated with flowers
in paprika, yellow and red to complement the
autumn hues.

In lieu of traditional wedding transportation,
the couple chose their favorite jeep tour company
to transport the bridal party from the wedding
to the reception site. “They all loved it as much
as we did, especially our two flower girls and two
ring bearers!” beams the bride.
