Midway between the homes of the Williams and Cole families sits lovely Scottsdale, where their children Jessica and Alex were joined in marriage last November under sunny skies.
“Having everyone in town all weekend, the wedding guests were able to relax and enjoy Arizona for a few days,” recalls the bride, a California native whose groom hails from Colorado.
Although Jessica and Alex met briefly many years ago, it wasn’t until the pair were both working in Southern California that they started dating. As the groom puts it, “I had seen her updated profile on Facebook. A combination of a few emails and my natural charm took over from there and here we are today, getting ready to spend the rest of our lives together!”
The couple’s destination wedding included 125 family and friends who traveled from as far away as Georgia to celebrate the nuptials.
Jessica’s grandfather served as officiant at the outdoor ceremony. The bride wore a Monique Lhuillier gown from Destiny’s Bride, accented by a special necklace from her grandparents who were unable to attend. Her attendants wore navy dresses, while the groomsmen sported navy blue ties and a secret nod to the groom’s fashion sense. “Alex loves argyle,” explains the bride, “so we found the perfect socks for him and his groomsmen!”
The ballroom was decorated in blue, including a fabulous three-tiered square cake with a blue and pink stripe motif. “Our stationer designed some really fun pieces to incorporate the pink and navy blue with touches of green, including the invitation, programs, menus, place cards and the really fun table numbers,” recalls Jessica.
“At the end of the evening, we gave out baked chocolate chip cookies that had a cute tag on them that said, ‘And they lived happily ever after.’”
