Sharing their lives and dreams was an important part of Tara Deubel and Micah Boyer’s wedding along the banks of Oak Creek at L’Auberge de Sedona.
“We both share a love of the outdoors and a passion for traveling the world,” said the newlyweds. “What a joy to bring so many special people in our lives to this unforgettable location!”
With Sedona and its breathtaking vistas of red rocks as their dream destination, Tara and Micah exchanged vows in a ceremony reflecting elements from both of their traditions, including a birch chuppah covered with handmade lace picked up at the souq markets of Marrakesh.
The couple’s Moroccan-themed reception featured a warm and sumptuous palette of burgundy and copper hues, transforming the ballroom into an exotic vision of another land. A mosaic of light patterns danced upon the walls, created by hand lanterns, enhancing the mystical atmosphere. The rich character and charm of Morocco, one of the couple’s favorite destinations, was reflected in the many unique touches found throughout the ceremony and reception, from the authentic Moroccan bracelet adorning the bride’s bouquet to the bright fabric canopy draped above the dome-topped cake with its shimmering colors of embossed icing.
The tables were named for Moroccan cities, while the centerpieces reflected the area’s rich heritage. Each was designed with a mix of rich colors and textures and fashioned from loose flowers, Mediterranean fruits, colored votives and perfume bottles all arranged on copper platters. Each guest departed the festivities with a decorative tea glass to commemorate the evening.
The evening’s menu continued the Mediterranean theme and featured a delicious burst of flavors with a duet of beef tenderloin bordelaise and cedar-roasted halibut over couscous.
“One of the best parts of the night was getting everyone out on the dance floor ‘til the very end. Surprising our guests with the wedding dance we put together was a special highlight for us,” added Tara and Micah.
