Reflecting their sense of style and sophistication, Mindy Roder and Jonathan Schwartz chose the Hotel Valley Ho for their autumn celebration. Navy and charcoal gray were used at the event, from the programs and place cards to the retro wedding cake. A variety of white flowers was used in all the centerpieces and arrangements.
A circular seating configuration designed by the bride provided an intimate setting around the chuppah for 210 guests attending the late afternoon ceremony. White rose petals lined the main aisle and large five-foot-tall floral arrangements were placed at the entrance to the aisle. The chuppah was adorned with white flowing fabric and large white floral arrangements on all four sides. The ceremony integrated both Jewish and American wedding traditions.
Immediately following the ceremony, guests were escorted to the rooftop of the hotel where cocktails and butler-passed hors d’oeuvres were served. The rooftop provided a 360-degree view of the city at sunset, and was decorated with high and low cocktail rounds covered in navy linens and white accents. Lounge furniture, white centerpieces, and candles of a dozen sizes added to the ambiance.
As guests entered the ballroom for dinner and reception they were greeted by lush ultra lounge furnishings. An assorted cigar selection was provided to guests after dinner. The patio lounge provided a great space for guests to enjoy a drink or a cigar while still being connected to the events inside the ballroom. Blue uplights along the perimeter of the room played off the color scheme and helped transform the space.
A DJ played music favorites for all generations and the dance floor was continuously packed throughout the night. Guests also enjoyed traditional wedding activities including the bouquet and garter toss, the Hora, and a not-so-traditional surprise solo dance by the groom.
