Jewel tones provided a stunning contrast to the dusky hues of the evening landscape at the wedding of Leigh Jackson and Dan Menghini at The Wrigley Mansion last October.
“The color palette consisted of rich Kensington red accented with sapphire and peacock blues. We used gorgeous red roses and crystals as the focus of the wedding decor,” recalls bride Leigh.
The Wrigley Mansion, situated on a hilltop overlooking Phoenix, offers exquisite views of the city. “The stellar views in the evening inspired our vision for the wedding,” says Leigh. Elegant decor, with elements of Spanish, California Monterey and Mediterrean architecture, the venue provided an opulent and yet intimate setting for the wedding and reception.
“One of my favorite details was the backdrop of the ceremony area that my wedding planner built. It was a huge, twelve-foot-wide and nine-foot-tall curtain of crystals that sparkled with the setting sunlight. It had red rose buds floating in the hanging glass votives throughout the curtain,” explains the bride. Bridesmaids in deep red gowns carried rose bouquets, hand tied with jeweltone ribbon.
A guitar and viola serenade greeted the wedding party during the ceremony, and later provided a musical backdrop to the cocktail reception which took place overlooking the entire east valley on the Mansion’s Camelview Terrace. “Surrounded by all of our friends and family,” recalls Leigh, “the outdoor setting was utterly stunning and very romantic.”
The jeweltone decor and spectacular panoramic views continued when the party moved indoors to the Living Room and Veranda for a dinner reception and dancing. Guest tables, double-draped with silky teal and sapphire lamour linens, featured several tall glass vases dripping with clear crystals and roses submerged in water. Tables were adorned with small crystals, while the placecards were also bejeweled.
The couple's favors included french chocolate truffles presented in beautiful red boxes tied with silk dupioni ribbons.
