bright lights, big city
décor pros bring new York style to the desert

You can take the couple out of New York, but you can’t take New York out of the couple. So was the case for Jaimee DiTommaso and Craig Pascale, who wed in January at the Four Seasons.

“To bring to life the ‘platinum and ice’ theme I wanted to convey, our florist designed the most elegant, sophisticated setting that brought us back to the ‘Rat Pack’ era,” recalls the bride.

The reception site featured oversized martini glasses filled with gems, floating candles and gardenias. Shimmering votives and romantic white lights were complemented by table numbers set in Swarovski crystals. The table settings included white linens offset by platinum chiavari chairs, featuring rhinestone buckles and platinum ribbon which were tied around white napkins.

Says Jaimee, “Our first steps into the room took our breath away. It was like stepping into another era and definitely felt like New York…especially when the trays of Italian cookies came out!”

Although the bride had always wanted a traditional wedding, she and her groom decided that two traditions would be left out of the celebration: the bouquet toss and the garter toss. In lieu of the bouquet toss, the couple crafted a meaningful tribute to the bride’s Aunt Olga.

Says Jaimee, “ She is my grandmother’s sister and the only “grandmother” we have left in our family. She is an inspiration to all of us. This was a surprise to my aunt and when I announced her dedication my dad escorted her up to Craig and I on the dance floor. Everyone in the room stood in applause and cheers, most shedding tears. It was a moment we will never forget and will always live in our hearts.”
