Perfectly Planned
Jennifer Walsh and Todd Patterson
March 27, 2010
As a young girl, Jennifer Walsh dreamed of a fairytale wedding. Her dream came true last March, as she walked down the grand stairway at Sassi on the arm of her beaming father. Waiting at the end of the rose-petal strewn aisle was her prince, Todd Patterson.
Says Jennifer, "I truly believe my father had an eye toward walking me down the Sassi stone stairway when he was first creating the beautiful restaurant nestled in the desert mountainside of Pinnacle Peak." Jennifer's heart was also firmly ensconced in the venue, as she watched it being built, brick by brick. Aside from playing host to the nuptials, both Jennifer's parents were central to the planning and celebration of their only daughter's wedding.
The couple enjoyed an outdoor ceremony on the Garden Lawn with a lovely desert backdrop and a profusion of bright floral arrangements. Jennifer's bouquet of red, terra cotta and lavender included a special good luck charm--a simple pink crystal stone in the shape of a heart.
Jennifer and Todd chose an elegant vintage theme for their wedding and reception, which featured elevated floral centerpieces and romantic candlelight in the Sassi Room. Recalls Jennifer, "A specially-crafted 'heavenly dreams' linen with hand-stitched pearls, crystals and embroidered vintage lace adorned the tables."
The menu was an exquisite Italian feast, including hand-rolled cavatelli pasta with bolognese sauce, filet of beef with spinach and gorgonzola potato cake, pesto-marinated salmon, and melazine parmagiano with eggplant, buffalo mozzarella and tomato. The wedding cake was a delectable combination of red velvet and lemon cheesecake set upon a sterling silver base, topped with a sophisticated sculpture entitled "Circle of Love." The unique piece is now displayed in the couple's dining room.
After the pair cut the cake, the evening was filled with heartfelt toasts, laughter and dancing. A vintage Rolls Royce whisked the pair into their "happily ever after" at the end of the evening.
